Ennio Morricone has provided a soundtrack to the lives of millions around the world, his evocative and epic scores transcending the films for which they were composed to become touchstones of popular culture.
Morricone's long artistic career includes a wide range of composition genres, working as orchestrator as well as conductor in the recording field, and as a composer for theatre, radio and cinema. He became famous worldwide with Sergio Leone's westerns: A Fistful Of Dollars (1964), For A Few Dollars More (1965) and The Good, The Bad And The Ugly (1966); and for soundtracks to The Mission and Cinema Paradiso.
Now, thanks to the collaborative efforts of Producer Malcolm C Cooke and Alan Bacchelli, in association with the Perth International Arts Festival and the WA Youth Orchestras Association and by arrangement with Discord Ltd, the Maestro is coming to Perth, for a once in a lifetime musical experience on Sunday February 26, 2012, where he will lead members of the WA Youth Orchestra and 100-voice choir through his greatest works.
