The Philharmonic Orchestra is a full symphony orchestra, providing the perfect apprenticeship for young musicians aspiring to the WAYO and beyond.
In addition to being under the tutelage of experienced conductors Burhan Güner, Dr Alan Lourens and Jon Tooby, professional tutors will be assigned to the string, woodwind, brass and percussion sections to offer guidance and insight into developing orchestral technique, and to provide musicians with a high level introduction to advanced orchestral playing, making it the perfect springboard and training ground for future members of the WA Youth Orchestra.
In 2013 the Philharmonic Orchestra can look forward to performing at the Perth Concert Hall and Winthrop Hall. The Orchestra will also present a series of educational concerts at the WA Academy of Performing Arts Music Auditorium.
